Itinerary

Day 1

Marrakech - Agdez

pick-up from your hotel or riad in Marrakesh at 08h00mm Am, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass. stop at several Kasbahs en route, including the Kasbah of Telouet. Now in ruins, after the last Pasha fled the country following the departure of the French, it once belonged to the Glaoui family, known as the Lords of the Atlas.

Continue to Ait Ben Haddou along the Ounila Valley and discover the most famous Kasbah in Morocco. Stroll the winding streets for awe-inspiring views of the Atlas Mountains. Drive south to Agdez and the start of the Draa Valley.

Day 2

Agdez - Chegaga (B, D)

After breakfast, take the ancient caravan trail, passing sub Saharan villages and gardens en route. Experience up close the local way of life as you drive through oases. Continue to M’hamid at the gates of the Sahara Desert, stopping at the spectacular dunes of Erg Lihoudi for lunch.

Ride camels across the blazing desert sands, then continue to the Erg Chggaga dunes, driving off-road to get your heart racing. Far away from civilization, you are now in the desert proper, where the silence and vast expanse of sand is overwhelming. Spend the night in a luxury tent, experiencing desert life for yourself.

Day 3

Chagaga - Taroudant (B, D)

Drive across the Sahara over stony desert and the dried-up Lake Iriqui. Once you reach the edge of the desert at Foum Zguid, turn north to Taznakht, famous for its Berber carpets. Continue to Taliouine, the heart of Morocco’s saffron growing region, then drive on to Taroudant for an overnight stop. in the hotel

Day 4

Taroudant - Essaouira (B)

This morning you will explore the small city of Taroudant, known as the “Little Marrakech” for its ramparts and medina. Continue along the Souss River valley passing groves of argan trees that supply the essential argan oil industry. From Agadir, the road travels up the coast along Paradise Valley, passing through the fishing village of Taghazout, with the mountains as a steady backdrop.

Upon arrival in Essaouira, explore the town and medina at your own pace, and soak up the laid-back atmosphere at bohemian shops and cafés. Walk along the sea front, lined with fresh fish restaurants and lashed by the wild Atlantic Ocean.

Day 5

Essaouira - Marrakech

Enjoy some free time in the morning to wander around Essaouira picking up any last minute souvenirs. Then transfer back to Marrakech in the afternoon with group.
